Root "compose new message" widget

Is there an app, widget, or shortcut I can put on my home screen that I can click and will automatically open the screen for writing a new text message

If you upgrade Launcher Pro to Launcher Pro Plus, there are a couple of LPP widgets under messaging that have a compose new message control at the top of the widget. I believe that Sense's widget is the same.

I just did a search of appbrain and found this: Message Widget - Android app on AppBrain (I haven't tried it.)

It looks there are plenty of messaging widgets on the market. Perhaps somebody has another suggestion.

I believe that Handcent has a widget, though I've never used it so can't say for sure how it works.
