i have plugged in my phone with usb to my computer and it wont recognises it. On the notification bar it says its connected as a media device. when i click on that i get a usb computer connection menu come up. It has media device (MTP) ticked

usb debugging is also ticked

anyone know why i cant access my phone folders on my computer

Two things spring to mind. First check that you have a good USB cable. Second, MTP only works with Windows XP and above out of the box. I think it is possible to get it working with Linux or OSX but I have not tried. Also, I believe you need to have the latest version of media player installed for MTP to work.

You can try switching over from MTP to standard USB which worked in all but one case for me. To do this switch, go to settings then wireless and network -> usb utilities -> connect storage to pc. Note: do this first and then connect the cable!

Hope this helps...

Eric Ritchie.
