Concerning the old phone?

boijay

Newbie
Hey guys, im getting my new LG Esteem on monday, and what about my old one? They said to send it to them withing i believe 30-50days?
Mine was rooted and has Titanium Backup files in there...what should i do?
Is it safe for me to send my phone to them in the current state?

the top half ended up in water, and now its malfunctioning
the screen wont respond till 10mins later, and all of the gestures
would go all out at once. I can't return it to stock cause the
debug isn't on :P

do you have recovery? can you boot into it? put a stock rooted rom (this is as close to stock that you can get EASILY http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/481810-rom-ms910-ld-lg-3-5-zvd-stock-mod.html) on your sd card and flash. then what i would do is pull while in recovery after your first boot (i think you can still pull while in recovery) superuser.apk from /system/apps/ with (http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/517688-adb-android-commander.html

well that is a good idea BUT it HAS to be an accident!!! we cant condone any acts of fraud but if you happen to ACCIDENTLY fall into the sink full of water... :)

These are all good responses, but i think i figured it out
I went into my very first backup and i pulled the whole thing out
deleted the superuser.apk and all of the other apks including the root ones
and ill try reflashing my old backup, im sure that way, superuser.apk wont be
in the flashing process :D

this will probally fail seeing as you deleted files changing the md5 checksum. there was a post over at xda i came across to force flashing with an incorrect md5 let me see if i can dig it up.
