Confirmed: 2.1 WILL require a wipe

now the people that manually updated to 2.1v3 update are we going to get a ota update to update to the officail verizon one

LOL....

What about us user's who updated to 2.1 V3? I guess Verizon or someone here might post the zip file.....

That is great news for the Eris users, having Verizon put out official word. Those of us that used the leak should be able to use the file pcd posts when they get it. Hopefully.

Ok so all my contacts will come back by them selves? Or i have to do that 'sync' thing...ive never done it :( And what about all my stuff in the calendar, will i loose it all?

If so, what should i do to save my contacts and calendar?

I may be mistaken but I think you had to have a gmail account to get the phone, and if so your contacts should be there, so after the update your phone should sync with gmail again and your contacts will be there, might want to ask around but I think that's the case.

In the People app if you press the Menu button you have to option to import or export your contacts to/from your SD card.

Just speaking for myself here, but may benefit others.

If some one can provide instructions on how, and what utilities to use to back up and restore data and applications; will be great.

I'm talking about applications paid for as well.

That has been discussed to death.

They will tell you to use app brain. Do not. It runs all the time....launches at start. No reason for that besides collecting data and using reources. Why do you think it's all free?

At least with Apple, only one company is invading your rectum. It seems that Android is a gang bang....

Stop using a task killer.

I don't use a task killer because I don't run crap like appbrain that launches at start up every time. The Eris processor is struggling as it is.

I run appbrain and it does not slow my Eris at all. It's not processor intensive unless you are actually using it or syncing your apps.
