confused but clueless

Acquired original Motorola Droids shortly after they became available
and have used one mostly for car navigation and MP3 playing.
Became involved in Android app development a few months ago;
knowing just enough to be dangerous.

Other than its nominally useless sliding keyboard,
poor phone intelligibility,
appallingly short battery life when fully powered off
and inability to reliably connect to my own WPA2 WiFi access point;
I have been fairly happy with the A855,
have considered upgrading to an X2, but will probably not.

Welcome to the AndroidForums, blekenbleu.

Well, the OG Droid was a pretty ground-breaking device in terms of the number of new folks it brought to the Android world. It certainly has been surpassed in many respects by the vast crop of phones that have followed its release.

Your battery life may simply be shorter due to its age (assuming you have the original battery--they certainly lose some capacity over time).

Lots of great phones (including the DX2) that are already out there, plus new ones on the horizon. I'm sure you'll find something that fits your needs :).

Cheers and glad you signed-up with us here at AF.
