CONFUSING BATTERY CONSUMPTION- maps 93%

Hi there- i'm new to this phone so juast learning everything- and i'm not rooted- and on T-mobile -- running android 2.2


for the last couple of days the main drain of my battery appears to be the maps-- at the moment my readout is saying

4h 41m since unplugged

maps 93%

cell standby 4%

phone idle 3%

i have checked and both the 'location' settings are off- (wireless and GPS) and i google is not set to update my location

what could possible be using so much juice?!

no- i just did that and it worked!!- cheers for that-


any idea why its doing this?- could it be that stupid 'footprints' app?!

since you pulled the battery, has maps begun to use battery again? Because my maps is apparently responsible for 93% of battery use, and I'm very interested in why ???
 
no- its not saying maps now,

however i have not used any of the apps like footprints or anything since doing the battery pull
