Confusion in Rooting

Hey guys,

I've rooted my SGSII and has the CWM app plus the SuperUser icon on my app tray so I know I've rooted properly. Just a couple of questions that bother me:

1. When I go back to the download mode, I should see clockwork interface right? whereas, i'm still seeing the normal download page. I can only go to CWM using the app mentioned above.

2. I'm now using XWKF1, is it alright for me to update to other kernels that I wanted?

Have you tried rebooting to recovery mode through CWM or by holding volume up, power and home button? For your second question, me, I had no problems flashing different kernels, did it twice already. But I am no kernel expert

Download mode will always be the same, its your recovery mode that changes (accessed by vol up, home and power). Yes newer kernals will work with your firmware.
