Help Connect as Internet Connection USB

Ok, when I connect my phone to a laptop through the mini usb cable to a usb port on the laptop it gives me 3 options: 1. Charge only 2. Mass storage 3. Connect as Internet Connection.

When I choose connect as internet connection nothing happens. The laptop does not have internet connectivity. What am I doing wrong or what do I have to do in order for me to use my phone to access the internet on a computer? Is there anyway to make this work?

The other 2 options work (charge only & mass storage) Thanks in advance!

I could never get the usb internet connection working either, so i got wifi tether from the market and use that.

Thanks for the reply. What "wifi tether" did you use exactly? Seems like there are several under that name or claim to do the same thing. None have worked for me. Used Google play .

I have used open garden. It works. This question has been answered before.I know, because I've answered it. You need to set your device as an optimus s in the app. Then you need a user agent on your laptop set to android. Google the user agent. It's not that difficult.

I mean use your phone to Google what your user agent is. You should find a website that can tell you what to manually add to your laptop's user agent plugin.(you'll also need to Google that ). I think that I gave better instructions elsewhere in the connecT's forums. Look around in here.
