So I rooted my phone, put Radioactive froyo 1.8.6 and such. I have connectbot on there, but I cant really figure out its purpose. If I delete it, is that bad or should I just pay no attention to it?

It is simply a command window like a dos screen for windows.
If you want to use it, you will have to learn command lines etc....Kinda hard if you don't know programming.
You should download a file explorer like Astro or EStrongs File explorer if you want to delete apps etc....
They will make the phone like a windows PC and you will see everything as folders etc...

Cool, thats kinda what I thought, but wasnt sure. I appreciate the help.

The only thing I used connectbot for was to get the phones msl so I could try one of the gps fixes. Got the msl, the fix didn't do squat.
