Connect keyboard to Galaxy Nexus using cable

Hello! I'm curious if anyone tried to connect keyboard or mouse to Galaxy Nexus through USB to MicroUSB adapter? I know it's possible to use bluetooth to attach those accessories but I'm interested in connecting a regular not-wireless, cable keyboard.

Thanks!

I haven't tried it but I know for sure that it will work. And the otg (micro-USB to USB female) are like $5 anyways.

I connected the OTG cable with my keyboard / mouse.
It works.
However, the battery drops extremely fast!
I tried to just plug in the OTG cable.
The battery dropped 6% within 30 mins!

Is it the same as yours?

I took my phone back to Samsung.
But it said they are not responsible for anything other than the phone itself!
I will not buy any Samsung product any more!

That's weird that the keyboard drains so much power but - on the other hand - it wasn't designed to be connected to mobile phones I guess. I didn't connect it yet so I don't know if it'd drain the same amount of power. I looked for the Y splitter cables with one male and two female ends to connect the charger along with the keyboard to the phone (or something like a microusb hub) but with no success.

I think that MicroUSB hub with keyboard, mouse, charger and MHL connector (for HDMI video output) could serve as a nice and quick to connect docking station that would transform mobile phone into a desktop computer.

I plugged in my usb wireless mouse and it works great. Haven't used it enough to comment on battery drain though.

Is there such a thing as a micro usb hub?

I'm not sure that MHL will work simultaneously with peripherals- I believe that bluetooth mice/keyboards are required if using MHL. (I may be wrong)

Yeah it's probably just best to get a bluetooth keyboard/mouse.. that way it won't drain your phone and you can still charge it at the same time.

It is designed to connect USB keyboard / mouse using OTG.

And the problem is not related to what device actually plugged into the OTG cable.
I only just plug the OTG cable, the power still go away quickly.

Also, another user installed battery monitor widget to monitor the power usage. He also noted the same problem.
