Root Connect the Dots - Root for VV5

vv5 is awesome...very fluid, etc...

It seems though that i lost my 4G speed, it connects like an old 9600bps modem, i'm 20 times slower than before on 4G :(
Do i need to update anything?

Also, how can i dehoax that stuff, the metrowificrap is really annoying?

Yea you can use Titanium Backup to "melt" all the bloatware, that's what I did or use Root Explorer and delete them yourself. I like TB the best, so much easier.

WHAT THE ACTUAL **** .... My 4g on VV3 used to be around 1.000 Kbps down and 300 Kbps up ...

This is me now .... :S

Hopefully the droped calls and reset connectivity will stop now.

i got a couple of tests after upgrading to VV5 P:70ms/DL:13622/UP:2881 and another P:150ms/DL:2735/UP:1060. VV5 works pretty well.

My battery is dying a lot faster but it started to do the same with #2, i will change it unless i'll get a new phone soon (Moto X looks pretty good)

I got a voicemail from metro yesterday saying that I need to bring my phone in si it can be updated so I will get full 4G speeds (by August 11th). I don't know what kind of update it could be but for the past week or so my data connection jumps from EV to 1x to 4G and then goes off for about 10 seconds and then repeats.... I can not get a solid 4G connection anymore... Here is a copy of the voicemail from yesterday.... I'm already on vv5 what else could they update?

you may face issues from being on vv5, considering you arent supposed to be on vv5, regarding that update that is

So what am I supposed to be on?

This is the 4G speed that I get when I'm about 80 feet from a tower...

This is what I get on 4G when I get home, which is about 5 miles from the same tower as my last post....

A massive difference huh? I can't even use 4G @ my house! Thank goodness for wifi! ;)

Some are reporting that Metro is throttling people on certain plans, you may want to look over in the MPCS thread for more info on that. I'm sure this may depend on where you are, but VV4/VV5 gave me 3x more 4G speed over ZVA/VV3. You may also want to check and make sure your PRL is up to date.

Yeah after I hit 500mb they throttle me back to 3g speeds but I'm still connected to the 4G network....

Mine seems to be getting stuck.

edit: Nevermind, rebooted my phone and PC and it worked fine.

Are you sure you have USB debugging on?

Are you sure you have USB debugging on?

Lol, i actually posted an update but i accidentally posted it in the box "reason for editing"
So like ten minutes after posting that, i rebooted my PC and phone, and tried again, and it worked just fine.
Yeah, debugging was on, and phone set to internet mode.
I think sometimes my PC has USB issues though, because i can plug my phone in and it says installing dirvers, then drivers failed to install, then sometimes i can replug it or plug it to a different port and it works.

Odd though, i just noticed that with VV5 my stock music player disappeared and now it's just google play music, which happens to not work with Phantom Music Player unless you have Pro. Also the stock player would have controls in the pull down, but google play music you actually have to click on it in the pull down to open it fully and then pause the music. LAME! I thought i backed up the stock player with Titanium, but it's not there?! Oh well, i got the PRO version of Phantom, so no biggy.
