"Connect to PC" confusion

I have my Desire set up to "Charge Only" and when I connect it to my PC it displays the connection as "Charge Only". However it isn't because doubleTwist loads and syncs with the phone despite it being set up to "Charge Only".

If I drag down the status bar I can see the radio selection is set to "Charge Only", but if I tap the "Charge Only" button again it will drop the connection to doubleTwist and be in a "Charge Only" state.

So, why is my HTC Desire connecting to the PC as a "Disk drive" when it is set up to connect for "Charge only"? It's really annoying, I've tried resetting the settings several times but it always does the same thing!

But how can it? If the device is set to "Charge Only" then doubleTwist should never even see the device in the first place!

Errr.. anyone with any suggestions? This is causing me a real problem with charging the phone in my dock!
