Help Connecting to PC

BWills

Lurker
I'm very happy with my Desire HD.
Though I when I connect it to my laptop via the supplied USB cable to transfer data (eg. music), nothing happens.
The phone charges fine, but it isn't recognised by my computer. Nor do I get any response from the phone asking to connect.
I have read the user manual and already have the 'default connection type' set to 'disk drive'.
Is this problem common? Help please.
Thank you.

I just registered to ask the exact same question :)

My HD does the same thing. I have over 2 months of photos to get off my phone and can't :(

works fine on my dhd and pc. i did install the htc sync application though and perhaps you need to do the same for the relevant "drivers" to be installed.

Yay. Went to the HTC support site - found and downloaded the HTC sync application.
Perfect. Probably seems obvious to most, but I would have thought it could mention that particular step of the process in the user manual.
Thanks again.

in fact, you should be able to find the htc sync.exe file in the sd card provided with the phone. again, as you said not the most intuitive but...

I have got the same problem but It's resolved by restarting the desire HD. You can restart by pressing the power button for while, there you get options to restart.
good luck !
