Help Connection problem

I have checked on the B&N website but they don't really seem to want to acknowledge that it is a problem with the Nook so I'll ask here. Maybe someone here can help us.
Got the wife a NC for Christmas. I have a Netgear WNR2000 Wireless router with the latest firmware. The router is set up with WEP off. I use a Mac Access list to control what devices connect to the router. DHCP is active. The SSID name is not broadcasted.
The nook connects to the router and receives a valid IP quickly. The issue is that the Nook continues to 'Check Connection' and then after a couple minutes of this, it returns a message 'Connected but no Internet'. The things I have done to try to remedy this is; I forced the router to connect at 'G' speeds instead of 'N'. I have turned on SSID broadcasting, and of course rebooting the router and Nook after any changes.
I have no problem connecting to the router with the following devices, an original Ipod Touch, my Droid X, an old Dell 2200 laptop running a Wi-Fi PC card in the pc slot and the first edition Nook.
I did dig out an old Netgear Wireless 'G' router and I connected that as an access point to my network and set it up the same way I have my 'N' router set up and the Nook connects and runs just fine on that one. I would rather not have to have two wireless networks running at my house if I don't have to, and of course prefer to keep my 'N' network.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We can also connect her NC to my DroidX using 3G Hotspot no problem.

Thanks,
-bob

are you updated to version 1.0.1? that is a small update that remedies wifi issues for a lot of people. try that first

Thanks Cabbie,
Yes,we updated to 1.0.1 on Christmas day I believe it was.

I also tried last night using all the versions of WPA security. Nada.

Small update to connection issue.
Updated to the rooted version of 1.1.0 today. Was bound and determined to get it to connect to my Wireless-N so I could disconnect my Wireless G.
Went back and tried all the different WPA's, still had the same issue, connect to network, but no internet. So I remember reading somewhere about slowing the wireless speed down to 54mbs. Did that and so far it has maintained the connection for about 30 minutes. (30 minutes longer than before :) ) Maybe it was the combination of the 54mbs and wpa2(AES)
Sad that I have to dumb down my router to get it to work with the nook, but oh well....

I have had this problem as well. Was on line last night with my laptop, but could not connect with my nook, most frustrating. Let me know if you have solved this issue I might have to do the same thing.
