Help Connection to Wireless N on the EVO 3D

Has anyone else successfully connected to wifi via wireless-N?

As we all know, gingerbread update on the Evo 4G took away wireless-N support. I have yet to see a published reason for this, or any discussion regarding resolution. Some speculated it was due to battery drain.

It would appear this feature is also not available on the Evo 3G. I've configured my router with multiple settings, the phone will not pick up my wireless-N network via scan or manual entry.
 
I thought my router was an 802.11N router, but it might not be if what you say is true. I am connected to my home's wifi right now, so if it's 802.11g, that makes sense.
 
Hmmmm. I believe at home I am connected via N. I have two routers, one is for B/G devices, and one is configured for N only. I've connected to my N only router.

I'll double check when I am at the homestead this evening

I can't connect mine unless I reveal the ssid, though its not a N router.
 
Smartphone radios are currently limited to 2.4GHz wireless N.

My router, Linksys E4200, is configured as wireless-N only in 5GHz, mixed mode b,g,n in 2.4GHz. I will continue to troubleshoot this, but wanted to thank those responding for their contribution.

Hmm have you gone into Advanced Wireless settings and checked off Best Wifi Performance? I have it checked off but not near Wifi to test it.
 
those who are on 2.4 n, post up your channel and security settings and also if you broadcast your SSID or not. Router brand may be helpful.

ooh and how you went to confirm you are on N..

i too can now confirm -N works. Thanks all for keeping this thread honest!
 
Well we purchased a wireless N so that's what lead me to believe it's N, we don't broadcast, it's private. I'm able to find it by putting in the network name, I put in the proper info and it just hangs at Optaining IP address. I believe it's WPA/WPA2 PSK.
 
channel: Set at auto, currently 6. Width is set at dynamic
security settings: WPA2 Personal, AES
broadcast your SSID?: Yes
Router brand: Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH (DD-WRT Goodness)


I am verifying it via the router settings page. Router settings pages indicates other modes are diabled, and router status page is showing connection via N standard.
 
3vo here and here's the skinny on my Cisco/Linksys E3200 dualband:

5ghz...no dice on any standard (g/n)
2.4ghz...any are fine.

Other notables:
WPA2 Security, No Broadcast for SSID, Firewall enabled. No settings altered on stock 3vo for connection. Its blazing fast.

Will updating to wireless N on my home router help with video streaming and overall speeds on the Evo 3d? Is the hardware in the Evo able to handle the increased data speeds????

I have att and att does not have a wireless N router so looking for a good compatilbe one :)

I had to go check my routers after seeing this, I have 3 N routers with 2 cable modems and a powerline adapters and I had no Issues but they weren't set to G & N both. I had to make them all N only and make a few changes and the phone connects fine
 
EVO 3D & TBolt working on a Linksys E2500 Dual Band N router as well as an Airport Extreme. Both with hidden SSID, different channels across the board, and WPA2 restrictions. Never tried to see if it will connect to 5GHz though...I'm guessing it probably won't.
