Help Connectivity service wake lock and juice defender

I've noticed over the last few days that the connectivityservice wakelock seems high. Eg so far today its running at c.24mins and over 3100 counts from 12 hrs up time. I can't say if this is a new situation as i don't check wake locks that often.
The phone does seem to be deep sleep OK and I do also use juice defender to control the radio/wifi. Maybe this is a trade off from using jd. ?

I do get a bit confused over the best wifi sleep policy but have it set to never sleep. When away from home I'll manually switch off wifi but I am housebound at the moment so perhaps that's why I've noticed the wakelock.

Anyone have any views ?

Personally, I would not use Juice Defender under any circumstances as it can cause more problems than it solves and can also merely mask and not cure battery drain. It could well be that it is causing your high wakelock. I find that as I am within range of Wi-Fi for the majority of my day/night, that the, "Always", on setting is the most efficient and battery saving.

There are a whole range of settings and tips for improving battery life on both rooted and un-rooted SGSII's, here. Post #5 by Hawker is particularly good for un-rooted phones.

Thanks for your help. I am rooted and have tried the majority of tips by Hawker and others. I'm running dream kernel on Root box 1.8 at the moment and am undervolting quite a lot. I suppose the obvious thing to try is to disable juice defender and check battery drain/wake locks, so I've done that now. I think juice defender's like a security blanket from my HTC desire days.

I'll see how it compares solo !

I've flashed siyah a few times since upgrading to ics roms and found other kernels such as Abyss and Dream to offer better battery life, which to me is more important than out and out performance.

Perhaps my findings with siyah were down to me not knowing how to maximize its potential, which is ironic as I've just flashed dream 2.7.4 (which i know is heavily based on siyah) and using Extweaks have a set up running very well so far. I think when I originally tried extweaks with siyah I was overwhelmed by all the options !

I might try the newest siyah kernel in a week or two.

Btw so far after 3 hrs from a full charge I have no connectivity service wakelock at all with Jd disabled.
