Hello guys. I am thinking of buying an Archos tablet probably at the end of the year because that is when my birthday is due (I know, it is such a long time :(). Last time, my Archos tablet was quite crappy and it was actually smashed within a week. So, is Archos better now and more worth buying?

Depends on which one you want to buy and what your budget is. They have some 'decent' tablets compared to like 2 years ago.

I do not know, man. I got my first tablet (Archos) back in 2011 and it was a piece of shit. It did not even have youtube pre installed and it lagged really badly. I actually smashed it out of anger and got reprimanded by my parents. Now I think of it and I actually regretted my actions.

Can't you get a Nexus 7 instead? Or even a Tab 2? Those are gonna go down in price bad at the end of the year with the new Nexus tablets and Tab 3 on the way.

I am not sure as I am still deciding. I may consider the tab 3 if the price is right and the specs are good.

The Tab 3's pricing is announced for Europe, but its going to price at least the same as the Tab 2 did when released, around $200-300. Specs are on the middle end for 7inch tablets (1.2Ghz dual core and 1GB RAM) Its the Note 8.0 with will have the better specs but its kind of expensive.

If you can buy a galaxy tab or nexus instead of an archos tablet, I would recommend that for sure.

And like chanchan said, the tab 2 will become cheaper, so you get a decent tablet for a decent price ;) The galaxy tab 3 will be more expensive.

Thanks for that suggestion. I think I may go with tab 3 because I want to buy a tablet that is low cost and able to last for at least a year or two.

If I had a galaxy tab 2 or 3, it would last atleast 3 years I think :p My acer iconia a500 is already lasting 1.5 years and I still can't see why I would buy another tablet.

Thanks for that suggestion. I think I would just stick with Galaxy Tab 3 instead of going to Archos.

Btw, that's a very cool tablet you have (just seen the images)!

Bro, you already owned the S4. I don't see why you would want a tablet. Sorry but just asking :P

I just want another device to go on YouTube, and use apps. I do not want to do everything on my S4 as that results in me charging my phone every single moment.

I actually wish I hadn't sold my a500 when I got my Nexus 10. I'd love to have both. I wanted Android 4.2, though, and the CM10.1 unofficial for the a500 wasn't up to par on the mic, WiFi, or Bluetooth... I mostly moved on due to lack of NEON.

The a500 was great. I do so miss its look and feel.

Now on to address the OP: Wait til the end of the year, get a Galaxy Tab or a Nexus 7. Personally, I prefer Asus products, but the Galaxy Tabs are great.

Thanks. I am getting a tablet only at the end of the year. I think I would get the Galaxy Tab though.

A tab 2 would also last for a while. I still have a Tab Plus (1st Gen Galaxy Tab dual core) and I still can't see any reason to get a new one apart from thinking a bigger one would be nice. But for a 7inch tab its still on par with the Tab 2, and in some ways better.

If you want something to last, either a Nexus or Galaxy would do very well. The Nexus has the advantage of updates, but the Galaxy has expandable storage.
