Considering returning from iOS

Hi all,

I think I am one of many that owned an HTC thunderbolt which drove me away from Android into the arms of iOS. I've been thinking about picking up a nexus7 and maybe getting another android phone when my contract is up. How has android and its hardware in general changed since the Thunderbolt? That was, in my opinion, a pretty terrible phone with horrible battery life.

The big things that I left Android for in the first place were camera quality and battery life. Have these things been substantially improved after the Thunderbolt? i use my Iphone as my camera and I have a little baby so being able to take great pictures is pretty important to me. I miss being able to tinker with my phone. Any words of wisdom would be apprecaited.

Thanks,
N

I would suggest that you get a decent digital camera. It doesn't not have to be an slr. A $100-200 canon elph will give you fantastic photos. You only get one chance to capture photos of your kid. Why do it with a crappy camera phone?

Comparing two lg phones and one galaxy tab to two iPhones and an iPad in my household, apple does a way better job with battery life. There may be some other Android device which has comparable or better battery life but I am not aware of it. Of course some androids allow you to replace battery if you are into carrying around spares.

Both battery life and camera quality have drastically improved, you can definitely expect both of those things to be on par with the iPhone; if not better.
