Root constant reboots

i tried flashing incredibly-redesigned 2.3.1 and i get constant rebooting. it says installed ok and goes good all the way through reboot. and gives me just enough time to slide the unlock then it reboots again and starts the process all over again. heres what i did so maybe someone can tell me what i did wrong.

downloaded 2.3.1 on my pc
connected dinc to pc and selected to connect as disc drive
transfered 2.3.1 zipped file to sd card
unplugged phone from pc and turned phone off
pressed volume down and power to get into hboot then went to recovery
wiped cache
wiped data
went to install zip from sd card and selected 2.3.1
after it installed i pushed power button to get back to recovery menu
selected reboot system now

it came up long enough to tease thats it

What version of clockwork are you running? It sounds like you did everything right. Maybe you just got a bad download. I'd nandroid back to a stable rom and download again, wipe and reflash.

i downloaded 2.4 to my pc at the same time as 2.3.1 i tried to flash 2.4 as well and the same thing happened.
