Help contact annouce on incoming call

is there a way to get the phone to just annouce the contact name instead of the number on incoming call with bluetooth?

I have the h19txt and when ever I get a call it just says call from and the number (no contact info) even if its in my contact list. I would like it to just say the caller id name. I do have talkback disabled. and motospeak doesnt have that option.

Good question - I'd like to know this also. Unfortunately I do not have the answer for you. I'd also like the normal dialing tones back (like my S2) when using the dialer, instead of the stupid "empty cup hitting water" sound.

A workaround would be recording short mp3s (ie; "Incoming call from Bob") and setting them as individual ringtones. There's quite a few recording apps that save as mp3s on the Play Store. ALthough I'm not sure if this would work over BT... youd have to test.

Get Call Anouncere (free) from the market and install and enable. It announces incoming text and/or calls. Simple to set up too.

This works, my mom uses it and it has prerecorded messages like, "Your Father is calling" or "Pick up the phone it's your son"

There is no "Call Anouncere" and there are over 100 hits for "Call announcer". Who makes the app you're suggesting?

As far as I can remember, contact names are announced if you put the phone into hands-free mode (S Voice)

Eg. it says "Incoming call from Kelly Brook"

(I get this all the time! I wish she'd leave me alone!)
