Help Contact Photos Look Terrible

Droid X, 2.1, non-rooted

I have added contact photos to my contacts using existing photos on the SD card. they are high resolution photos that look great on the phone screen even zoomed way in. When I use these same photos for a contact, and then that contact calls, the photo pops up showing they are calling, but the photo looks terrible.

I also see the terrible looking contact photos on LPP's People Widget.

Anyone know what is causing this? Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have great looking contacts photos show up when calls come in? I have a feeling this is happening when I add photos to contacts...not with photos that are coming through via contacts on facebook or google...not sure? Any ideas?
 
Really!!! No one can even respond to tell me if their contact photos look good or bad when a call comes in...or in LPP's People widget? Is no one adding photos to your contacts or is this topic not exciting enough?

Sorry. Did not mean to ignore you.

I am completely stock on my DX. Having said that I only use google contacts, gmail, calendars, etc. and have had no problems. Contact pictures look a-ok on both my desktop and DX.

You are talking about the contacts that show up in the widget or when you receive a call right? When I look at the tiny pics in contacts they look fine. Just not when the phone enlarges them on an incoming call or the People widget.

Even on the "Contact quick tasks" widget that came on the phone they look terrible.

They look fine in the contact widgets, my contact list AND when I receive a call.

All of the pics I used were either taken with my DX or uploaded when I created and edited my list in google contacts via my desktop way before I got my DX.

the only pics i have on my contacts right now are from my facebook contacts and they do look terrible. i just thought it was a problem with that crappy facebook app. ill try to save some from my gallery to compare.

It looks to me like any photos that came in from facebook or gmail look fine on the contact widgets, but any that I try to change on the phone via pics i have on the sd card look terrible...kind of like the widget is just enlarging the tiny pic in the contacts list.

I have the same issue man. I don't use Google contacts though.

I had the same problem on my Droid Incredible. There was a work around for that on that phone. Have not figured out anything yet with the Droid X though.
