Last night my battery completely died and the EVO 4G shut itself down. After about an hour on the charger I turned it back on and my contacts (2,000+) and my call log were completely empty. I have my contacts backed up to restore but would like to know if anyone else has had this experience and what may cause it. I am running Gingerbread and my contacts are on the phone and synced with MS Outlook, not Google contacts. Thanks.

Can't say I have heard of that issue, but I have heard of people not being able to turn their phone on after being dead, then an unsuccessful charge.
So, you have your contacts back? Anything else lost besides call log?

I would consider yourself fortunate to be able to turn it back on lol
Of course, I only know of problems here, so it may not be that huge of an issue as far as recharging from dead battery.
People usually dont post in here with no issues
But yeah, that is odd and thankfully you didn't lose your contacts...ugh...that would suk
