Root Contacts disappeared

I flashed MikG 3.0 to my wife's EVO (gingerbread) last night and got everything all synced up with her gmail account and the contacts were there.

Something happened overnight because this morning her contacts are gone and when we try to manually sync through the settings menu, it doesnt' sync. What do we need to do?

Thanks!

Wipe Dalvik cahce & Cache in recovery and reboot.

Its always a great idea to have your contacts exported to your SD card. I don't even bother having my contacts backed up to google.

I back up everything to my google account. If clearing cache and dalvik doesn't work, I would try going into your account & sync settings and make sure it's checked to sync up. If it's checked, try unchecking and rechecking. I've never seen this happen though.

Also, you're looking at the "people" app right? I have had issues with the stock messaging app where my contact pictures will disappear, but you can run a simple command in terminal emulator to get them back. If anyone else has had this issue, here's what you enter. Just reboot afterwards and it should work.

1) Open terminal emulator
2) type "su" (without the quotes) and press enter
3) enter the following command

chmod 666 /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/files/*

4) Press enter and reboot.
