Help Contacts, hide some on phone?

I just switched my email to Gmail. I imported my old email contacts to Gmail. When Gmail synced it added the contacts to my phone. Some are ones i want for Gmail on my PC, but not needed on phone. (no phone#, in contacts email wouldn't go to spam).
Is there a way i can hide some of my contacts that i don't want on on my phone, but retain them in Gmail?

Yea you can go into the contact and group it. Then go in display options in your contacts and unselect that group that you don't want in your phone. The list will still be in gmail.
