Help Contacts import

Hello, I am wondering if there is an easy way to import the contacts from the LG pc suite to my new phone (another new shine). It seems like it created another profile for the new phone and won't allow me to restore contacts from my old one. Ideally I would like to switch my contacts over to my gmail account but I'm not sure how to do this easily. I tried exporting to a .csv file and importing them on my email but it didn't work right. All the phone numbers were put in as notes and it is going to suck to have to set that all up manually again. Any ideas?

You want to import the contacts to the Google contacts? I've done it before, I created a bunch of vcard contacts and reimported it into Google Contacts... Don't remember how. Otherwise you can do it from the LG PC suite software, export to CSV and reimport into Google...

i do not use the PC suite. If you can create a csv file with columns, you could use excel to edit it by moving the columns around so that they match the google format (ie move phone numbers from notes column to a phone number column). Sometimes you need trial and error to get it right but I've done it before.

Yes, this is exactly what I tried to do. However importing the csv file into gmail did not work right. I guess I will have to try messing around with the columns in excel as funpig suggested.

If I find the vcard technique I used a while back, I'll post it here. Basically it rips out all contacts from LG pc suite with an app and saves them in vcard format (.VCF), which can be imported in Google afterwards... I THINK.
