Contacts list puzzle

Just bought my Ace 2. When contacts were copied over to new sim in shop, I realised when I got home that contacts were duplicated and abreviated. So tidied them up manually. Result is that when I look at my contacts list thy are nice and neat. However, if I text and go through the messaging route, when I add a recipient by pressing the contacts button in the messaging screen, the contacts list has all my contacts plus all the duplicates and abbreviated ones I previously amended/deleted. How can I make sure that the messaging contact list reflects the real contact list? Any help appreciated

I had this problem when I first got mine, so to over come this I set all my contacts through my Gmail account, and then cleared my sim card of all my contacts using a free sim card manager app.
Now I have no contacts on my sim whatsoever to confuse my contact list. If I decide to change my phone or sim I can simply update my contacts via my Gmail account. Also I do all my alterations to my contact list through Gmail normally on my pc or laptop as I find it much quicker this way.

Theres no need to install an app to delete sim comtacts, goto contacts, press left menu then press more,then press display options,then display sim contacts but dont display others,go back to contacts, press left menu, then delete, check all button, then delete.go back to display options and display your choice of contacts. FYI if you use Go SMS Pro,( and stock sms i believe, not confirmed) sim contacts are picked by default if they are there and will not show contacts pics,so deleting sim contacts will solve this issue
