Help Contacts management

Ok, I am new the Android and the contacts is driving me crazy... My Droid X is now sync w/ both my Google (and Google Voice), and Facebook.
On the home screen, there is a dialer icon (left lower corner) and a contact icon (right lower corner).
If I tap the contact icon, it shows me a contact list that pulled from my facebook and Google account. It probably does have all my facebook firend; but my google contact is no where near complete (it only has only 11 out of the total 151).
Now, if I tap dialer>contacts tab, it pretty much has what I need; but it has duplicate accounts - facebook, google, and what already transferred from my old phone...
What can I do to consolidate the contact list that BOTH ways would work?
Please help.

p.s. the Android experience is really good so far, except this contact list nightmare (or may be I just don't know how to deal w/ it yet... advice please)
 
What I ended up doing is going into the contacts list, pick a contact and then hit the menu hard key, then go to Link Contacts. You can merge them all like that into one contact card with all info in it.
 
Or you can hit contacts, menu, display group and set it so you see a certain group instead of all of them at once

I did the same thing (probably the anal accountant in me) .. but I also only show the google contacts when I am looking for someone since those are the contacts I had in my old phone.
 
Are you able to prevent Facebook contacts from being imported all together? I have no interest in bringing in all that info.
 
When they imported my phone contacts into my phone today, they merged with my facebook contacts!

Is there any contact management software that easily allows you to flag multiple contatcs, and then move them all into one group? Quite annoying!
 
OK. This is a major issue for me as well. At this point when I pull down the contacts menu I have all contacts/favorites/facebook/google/phone contacts. I would ideally like to merge the phone contacts and google contacts.

The contact issue is not user friendly yet... (but I love my x)

The whole point of adding your facebook account in Android is to import the contacts.

If you just want to use Facebook app or widget, just download it off the Market, and you can login without it messing with your contacts.
