Help Contacts not syncing correctly

HeadOffice

Newbie
Does anyone else have this problem?
I have 512 contacts visible on my Google CR-48 laptop, HTC Evo as well as web interfaces. When I got my A500 I set up my account and I got about 350 over but no more.
Tried syncing contacts and still no success...:(

Similar. I only have contacts on PC using Outlook 2007, but have multiple calendars over Mobileme. Tried using Acer Sync, so downloaded the app/drivers and installed. Sync picked up the tablet over wifi, and started OK, but stopped after 26 contacts with an unknown error, and only managed 1 of the 4 calendars.

Acer technical support were no help, putting the error down to Outlook and asking me to call other technical support on a premium rate number :(

So, I'm hoping to find something else on Market.

My contacts were in Google so I thought that would be easier. Had to do a factory reset and add my initial account again. Problem solved.

Unfortunately that doesn't help you. Best of luck...

I too can't successfully sync my Outlook 2007 contacts. It gets to record 63 and fails. It does, however, successfuly sync the Outlook calendar.

I recall having a similiar issue with my Blackberry and I had to erase the BB data and resync.

I don't know what to do with Acer sync on the Iconia.

Thanks.

Reset (using reset button) as opposed to factory re-store (using software)?

I am assuming that doing the factory reset will eliminate all the apps I added and undo the rooting as well?

My gut feel is there is something in the contacts database records that may be causing this problem, but, I may try as you suggested and see what develops.

Before you do a factory reset, take a hard look at the Acer's native calendar settings. The Acer may be not addressing a number of your contacts because there may be a selection in settings preventing it.

When I went Android, I exported all of my Outlook contacts to a file and then imported them to Google contacts. Since all contacts are in the cloud, when I got the A500, and as soon as I signed into my Google account, bingo, all contacts in.

Thanks. What file type do you choose when export to a file? .PST?

Actually, thats always the best bet.

See if you can get everything into google and then when you add your account on the a500 it auto syncs up.

For me - I already had everything in google so I just reset the machine - chose software reset - had to re-root etc. but that and adding all my favorites took about an hour. Then everything went well. Not sure why contacts weren't syncing correctly but that's all a thing of the past.

I used comma separated values (.csv) when I did it. Tons of guides on the Web though, if you Google it.

Here's one:

Export Outlook Contacts to Google Gmail - Outlook - Office.com
