Help contacts not syncing to gmail

In terms of backing up and syncing contacts (and a whole lot more) I can recommend MyPhoneExplorer, a free app which uses USB or Wifi to sync to your PC.

I fixed mine I hope this helps others...

!!!!!BACK UP Contacts to SD Card!!!!! then.........

First, press menu and go to "settings" - click on "Accounts & snyc" - uncheck "background sync" - now use your back key to get back to the screen where you saw "Accounts & snyc" and then click on "Applications"

"Manage Applications" - "ALL" - "Contacts Storage" - open the "Contact Storage" and click "clear data" of "Contacts Storage"

Get back to the first step above and recheck "background snyc"

Then reload contacts from backup and select Google.

(this was on HTC desire)

It's fantastic when a solution actually works. This worked great for me.

The problem I have is that my contact list shows 3 different accounts (gmail1, gmail2, and tmobile) that some contacts are synced with. Some are with gmail1, some with gmail2, and the majority with tmobile. There is a little icon to the right on each contact showing what account they are on.

How do I make them all the same, so I can backup/sync with just ONE gmail account. This is so frustrating.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

You DA MAN!!!!!! Thanks this worked great on my Thunderbolt.

I had this issue and I am embarrassed to say that it was because I have multiple gmail accounts and I was creating the contact in the wrong account on my phone :-)

In people, export to SD card. Then import from SD card. When importing, choose google contacts as the type.

This definitely worked. I was trying to research how to sync contacts from my android to gmail. This worked perfectly. Thanks a ton. Much appreciated.
