Help Contacts on SIM Question

Hi Guys,

I am running Android 2.2 on the LG Optimus one.

A weird thing happening. Whatever Contacts I have stored on the SIM card, I can only "Edit Contact" them when I press the Menu key. Then even I can only edit the phone number & name of the contact, not add anything else.

When I have a Contact stored on my Phone, I additionally get the "Options" choice.

Is it my SIM card problem?

How do I shift all my Contacts to the Phone or/and SD Card ? I tried using the Export/Import option but couldn't figure it out.

Hi Derek,

You get only the phone number/name fields because those are the only fields available in the SIM card contact slot owing to limited memory on the SIM. If you want to add any more information, you will have to copy the contact onto the phone. In my case, this was done automatically the first time I inserted my SIM into the phone. If you want to do it manually though, choosing 'Import/Export' in the Contacts menu brings up the 'Import from SIM card' option.

Thanks! I just did that. Imported the Contacts to my Gmail account....now what do I do?

I bought LG Optimus One the day before yesterday & after trying lot with the options I finally found the way to do it .... just remember whenever you an't find options to accomplish a task just press the 'Menu' button (the physical left most key) & you will be shown options. For copying contacts, just pres that buttton & you will be shown the option to 'import/export', if u press that there will be an option to copy from SIM, SD Card, web accounts (google, yahoo, twiter). I coppied all my old N73 contacts to PC & from there to the SD Card so I just pressed 'Imported from SD Card' &...... tada!!! It's done. Hope it helps.
