Help Contacts Problem

[jims]

Why does the "Contacts" app not have an option to text. The only options I get are to call or email my contacts when I tap on the "contacts" icon.

All of my phone number entries have the quote character (with the smiley face) next to the telephone symbol. Press this character to enter the messaging app to send a text message. You can also press the picture of the person (or the gray android picture if you don't have a picture for them) and see all of the ways that you can contact them.
