Help contacts problem

We just got my wife a LG optimus elite for Virgin Mobile. I have a Samsung Galaxy s II so I know a little about droids. I manually entered a phone number in the contacts and it doesnt show up in the contacts list. I never had that problem with the Samsung. I know this seems like a really simple process, but Im stumped. I couldnt find anything in the settings to allow me to manually enter them. Thanks for any help.

sync with google and the contact should show up. you'll also notice this even when loading saved contacts. im not sure of its not understanding how to load contacts without syncing to google,some glitch or a google invasion of privacy wanting access to your contacts before the phone will load them. either way,just making a new contact or loading saved ones just wont show up unless you sync to google atleast once.

Go in to the contacts and push the menu button, then display options. Then you can set it to show your Google contacts or just the contacts saved on your phone or whatever you want.
