Contacts save help please

Hi;
How do I save contacts to sd card(or even sim) and not Google or backup assistant.
I am not on Ver. so B.U. Ass. does not work and I don't trust Google.
My old phone(HTC) had a setting for this but D3 does not or I cant find it.

In contacts, menu:manage contacts. You can export to sd from there.

Uhm,, That is not the problem.
Where is backup assistant saving new contacts?
They are not showing up in Contacts list.
That is why I want to save them to sd card. Even saving to sim would be OK even though that only supports name and ph#s not full vcard info.

You cannot actually save contacts on the SD card - they can be exported to, or imported from, there, but contacts (as on most Android phones that I know of) are all stored on internal storage on the phone (in a partition called /data - you cannot access it from other apps unless rooted, but there is a database there where all contacts are stored.)

Backup Assistant contacts are stored in the same place, but those contacts are actively synced with Verizon's Backup Assistant online service when you have a network connection. Google contacts are stored in the same place but are synced with Google contacts at www.google.com/contacts when you have a network connection. Phone contacts are stored in the same place but do not get synced anywhere (unless you manually export them to SD or SIM). Facebook contacts - same thing, except those are synced with your Facebook account.

If you are having issues with seeing Verizon Backup Assistant contacts, go to menu->display options. Tap on "Backup Assistant" and make sure that "All contacts" is checked. If it is not, I guess you can either try deleting your Verizon Backup Assistant account from the phone and try recreating it, or make sure that you actually have Verizon Backup Assistant contacts online to sync.

I do not have a verizon account. If I could I would delete backup assistant, but I can not find it in apps nor app quarantine. It is in settings but I see no way of shutting it off or disabling it.

Are you rooted? If so, the Backup Assistant client is /system/app/BackupAssistanceClient.apk (and .odex). You can freeze that app without problems. However, BuaContactAdapter.apk is also used by Verizon Backup Assistant, but you cannot freeze or remove it without affecting the contacts app.
