Im having a problem. I have all my contacts viewable in people but when I try to make a group, not all are visable. The phone doesnt give me the option to saveto sim onluy SD card. Can anyone shed any light on the matter please?

I don't know they answer to this but my first thought was that maybe your "View" options aren't set up correctly. If you look at Menu -> View and the accounts ticked under "Options", does that all seem right? If you click the down-arrow next to each account, there are further tickbox options for which sub-divisions of each account are shown, including groups.

It's a good idea with android phones to start saving all your contacts as Google contacts...that way they are backed up to your google email account if your phone is lost and instantly available for your next phone. Also means addresses, notes, emails etc are also stored but can you choose only to view those contacts who have phone numbers in your phone when it comes to dialling and texting.

Absolutely! I remember it being a bit of a faff when I first got my phone, trying to work out how to import the contacts from my old phone into my Google account. I can't recall exactly what I did, but I often find this sort of task is best accomplished on a computer rather than on the phone. On the Gmail Contact webpage, there is an import option accessible from the "More" button.

Save to SIM was made defunct relatively recently (across the majority of Android handsets above a certain version number). Have you had the 2.3.5 upgrade? I suspect it was removed then.

Still on 2.3.3. The contacts i cant see have what looks to be a pic of a simcard next to it.

Are your contacts stored as google contacts? My understanding is that only Google contacts will show in Groups when using the stock app. You could always try a contacts app such as Go?
