Continuous Reboot Problem

Fahad Ali

Lurker
I turned on the bluetooth of my Xperia Ray today and the phone instantly went to reboot screen, and then it continuously rebooted. Only once the phone started properly but it showed that the bluetooth is turning on. I couldn't turn it off nor on since it was in the process of turning on. I just ignored this bluetooth issue and used the phone normally. Otherwise it always showed bluetooth sign on the main window when the screen appeared for 2 3 seconds before rebooting. That means that the bluetooth is turning itself on on reboot. I connected the phone to my laptop to create a backup on the laptop but USB cable didn't pick my phone, although it charged via laptop. Once I got access to my android desktop for some seconds and I instantly turned off the bluetooth and got control of my android again. Then after performing some checks, I turned on the bluetooth to see whether bluetooth is the problem and the phone instantly booted again and started giving the same response, i.e. continuously rebooted. Although I regret my decision of turning the bluetooth again but now at least I can assume that bluetooth is the problem.

My phone is running on Android 4.0.

Please help me as this is seriously pissing me off now. I can't find a way to get my phone back!

We seem to have a lot of sony xperia's but I didn't see a Ray version. :o

In the meantime, does it do any good to power down and pull the battery?

I am hoping that will allow you to turn off bluetooth when you restart.

Wondering if that is a hardware problem or if the software associated with the bluetooth is corrupt somehow?

If it is the software, I wonder if you could go into settings and manage apps and stop the app and clear the caches and data and whatnot and start it up again and see if it still bootloops?

Other than that, people swear by, and at, doing factory resets.

I cannot do anything, since whenever I turn it on, it goes into bootloop! And I have forced stop the bluetooth sharing app when my phone was in my control, it didn't help.
And no the battery thing didn't help either. I have tried it!

I wonder if that phone can be booted into the stock recovery and a factory reset done from there?

i assume that would wipe your phone though. Other than taking it in for repair, that would be the last thing that I could think of...

Let us know how it goes, please.
