Control icon on lock screen

I want to display a control icon on my lock screen for YouTube Music, similar to the one I have now for Doggcatcher podcasts:



How do I do that?

on my note 10+ i have YT music control widget on the lockscreen. in my phone's settings>lockscreen>widgets>music

not sure where that setting would be on your phone.

Thanks, that setting is not on my phone. I've scoured the manual, only talks about shortcuts to apps on the lockscreen. I don't remember how I got the control widget for Doggcatcher, I think it was a choice during the install of the app.

I don't know if it works the same as on my pixel 5 but mine shows up on the lock screen when I have the app open. I'm kind of assuming you've tried this but figured I'd mention it just in case.

I figured it out. The lockscreen doesn't support widgets, they are notifications. I found two things that have to be set properly:

settings->Apps & notifications -> Notifications -> Apps -> "Youtube Music enabled"
settings->Apps & notifications -> Notifications -> Lock Screen -> "Show all notifications"

I turned both those things on and the control "widget" appears on the lockscreen.
