Converting video from phone to burn DVD

I have Vegas Platinum 9.0.

Tried to convert from 3GP (using free 3GP video converter freeware) to WMV, MP4 and MOV but could not add to Vegas.

I want to convert to a format playable on a standard DVD player. Any advice?

Cheers.

I do not know if this still holds true but I believe Sony Vegas, from the low end all the way up to the high end, is designed to work with
Sony products and with HD, Panasonic also. They colaborated developing the AVCHD format.

When I got my JVC Everio a few months back I looked into video software and found out that Sony Vegas does not play well with others.

That being said, there may be a workaround for you in Vegas. Have you contacted Sony Vegas support?

LOL.

I use Handbrake ...

Handbrake could convert 3GP video only to MPEG-4 video files which do not universally play on all DVD players.

You could try Quick Media Converter (freeware) and convert the 3GP video to MPEG-1 video files which nearly all DVD players would play as they're recognized as VCDs. However, the video quality may be degraded as a result of the video format conversion.

If you really want to convert to the DVD format (MPEG-2), you could use ConvertXtoDVD, and probably other available commercial retail softwares.
