converts all pictures to multimedia and then doesn't send

Pretty much what I said... My Samsung Cappy now converts all pics to a 5 sec multimedia file and then it fails to send the picture. I take the pic, select the "share" function, from the list pic "messaging"...in the composition of the message it claims the pic is too large and that it's converting it...it "converts" it and it shows as a thumbnail with a "play" triangle on it in my messaging app. If I tap on it, it will play like 5 seconds of a still shot, complete with a progress bar and transport controls...and it WON'T send in a text message for anything...

I've just noticed this in the last 2-3 weeks, but that could be cause I don't normally send pic messages...any help?
 
After updating to FROYO I had the same problem. Downloaded and installed Handecent Messaging and fixed the problem. I like Handecent much better, it's a great app.
 
I noticed this problem as well. Fortunately my wife is the only one I send pics to and she hasn't had any problems. So at this point I'm bound to do the English thing and ignore it (for now).
 
This has been happening to me too lately and I did NOT update to Froyo.

I was trying to figure out why some people were getting my 'photos' and some were not, it appears that the friends who do not have video capability is not getting them (obviously I know now because they are being sent as 5 second videos).

I do not get any errors, the picture sends as usual but when I check my message thread and click on it, it plays like a video.

GAH!
 
Hmmm, nobody else with this problem?

I also downloaded handcent and so far have had no issues. Thanks for the tip putt4fun, I have been needing an excuse to try it anyway. I think is is an awesome app!
 
Hmm, I sometimes get that when receiving pictures in text.

I haven't updated to Foyo yet but it's only a matter of minutes now. Trying to get up my nerve
 
i had this issue twice. once when i first got the phone and then once when i did a factory restore. each time i had to call AT&T for them to send a code to the phone t oallow the text messaging pics to be sent. took about 15mins each time talking with a AT&T tech.
 
The only time my phone did that was when I didn't have mobile data turned on or didn't have signal.
