Coolest Feature,Tip,Trick or App you have found For the Note 2

Probably been mentioned before but "Media Clip" is incredible for downloading videos from Youtube and so on. Its infested with popup ads but a 3 minute video takes a matter of seconds to download.

If you have a lot typing, in say an error message on the phone screen, that you want to 'OCR' onto your PC you can use Google Translate. Take a screen dump, connect to the PC and then use the camera option of GT. Copy the text to an email and there it is.

A bit of a fiddle but saves typing and with better accuracy (for least for me!).

I am not sure if it has been posted or not but I found under settings/lock screen/owner information that you can type in a message that will display on the front of the lock screen. If it is just a short message (like your name) it stays still but if it is a longer message it will scroll across the screen. It does have a limit to how long the message can be. I put on mine "IF FOUND call (my home phone). A pic was taken of you by Eyescan Protection.";) There is the little eye on the notification bar. lol. There is no such thing of course and it was just for fun.

This feature is almost all phones I have had experience with. But yes page 1 or 2 talks about it also.

I might as well mention in here in case people aren't subscribed to the app thread, but S-Pen helper allows you to change the notification sound for removing and inserting the s pen, without rooting!

The SMS on the Galaxy Note II allows you to press and hold the text bubble to copy text within that bubble.
What if you would like to copy just certain words from that text bubble and not the entire message?
Not sure if this had been shared before, but this is what I stumbled across.

If you click on a text message bubble, it will take you to another screen showing just the text only. Within this screen you can pinch to zoom to increase the text size, as well as copy text. To copy text, you would press and hold a word to bring up the text pins. You can then move the pins around to highlight the text you would like to copy. Then select copy when done. The copy icons look like two pieces of paper on top of one another. If you would like to select all, then you would choose the icon that has the letter T. In some apps, the select all would look like a white box with four little black boxes inside of it. To paste, you would go to the app or text area where you would like to paste your copied text. Press and hold the screen, then choose the icon that looks like a piece of paper on a clipboard.

Not sure if this has been posted about before, but when the phone is asleep if you hold your finger over the camera and sensors on front the phone will display if you have any texts/missed calls and the battery %.

Doh already been posted!

Mine doesn't do that.

You need to go into Settings>Motion and turn it on. Then check the box beside Quick glance.

You can then scroll to Advanced settings and press Quick glance. This allows you to check what you want to display. Choices are:
1) Missed call
2) New message
3) Battery
4) Current Music
5) Status Bar

Not sure if this ones been mentioned but I found it by accident. If you go into the phone app, then the Call Settings menu, check off "Increase Volume in Pocket" and, as the name states, it'll ring louder if the phone is in your pocket. I have my ringer set to a low volume by default and really hate having to change it if I'm in a meeting or at home or whatever. This little toggle works pretty well for the most part. What I have noticed is that it'll work when you're standing up/walking then if you were sitting down. Sounds weird but definitely give it a try if you're constantly missing calls cuz your phone ringer is set to a lower volume all the time.

Ok so we have had some very funny ones but here is a serious one, some of you may know already..

If you have a lots of apps, did you know that rather than scrolling through them all you can click on apps button on the home screen and then use 2 fingers to pinch the screen together, all of you apps will now be shown on mini home screens :)

Thanks for the cool tip!

How are apps sorted on to pages? Mine seem to be ridiculously scattered.
