Help COPY and PASTE Help needed

run12

Newbie
I must be a dummy but first off I can't highlight anything which of course means I can't right click and copy and then paste somewhere else like windows allows. If anybody can point me in correct direction for the procedure for Nexus 7 to copy/cut and paste I would certainly appreciate it..thanks run12

Hey run12 :)

Don't worry... you're not a dummy!!

I think what you need to do is a long press over the text you want to copy (you should then be given 2 tabs that you can pull to highlight the full text you want to copy) and the options to cut/copy... once you've copied the text, you should be able to long press (in the location/box you want to paste it) and then be given the option to paste... let us know if this is what you mean/if it works :)

I don't have a nexus but try this:

Longpress on any word of the text you want to select. Then you should see some adjustable sliders and cut/copy/select all options. Then longpress again wherever you are planning on pasting and choose the paste option.

Edit: Ninja'd again by durx... How many times is that today?

Usually you just hold your finger down on the text until you see the two sliders appear. Then you position the sliders so the text you want is highlighted between them and select copy, usually from the top of the screen. Then you go to wherever you want to paste it, hold your finger down and select paste. This is the way it works in Gmail, Chrome browser, Dolphin browser, Boat browser, ColorNote, and many other apps. It doesn't seem to work in Firefox browser.
