Help Copy and Paste problems?

Is copy and paste available universally at the system level, or is it up to individual programs to implement it? I'm finding that I can copy text from a lot of places, but I can't seem to figure out how to paste it into another program, as the paste menu never comes up. is there a keyboard shortcut for this functionality?

Was trying to paste server settings into Touchdown. Worked OK when I used the hacker's keyboard (which allows for ctrl+v) but couldn't figure out any other way to get the context sensitive clipboard to pop-up.

Are you talking about copying then pasting from the clipboard? I believe the clipboard must be supported by the app you're using. But I could be wrong. There are times I can get the clipboard to appear by just long pressing the screen and it appears. But most of the time a menu on top with icons for copy, paste etc appears.

If you're using the stock Samsung kB you can always get to your clipboard where everything you copied will be.

The stock keyboard is one of the best things ever except for the inexplicable dearth of auto correct. I never understand why people would pay money for a keyboard app. Stock has all kind of featuring options and you loose them if you switch.

I basically try out a lot of keyboards and even tried out the thumb keyboard such was designed for the tablet. It worked really well on landscape mode.

Thanks! I had tried pushing the mic key, but I hadn't tried holding to get at that menu (and hadn't seen that tip in any of the searches I'd done either). From my quick testing, overall I think I like the Hacker's keyboard more for everyday use, but it is great that I can switch back and forth as needed.
