Copy contacts to SIM

XXX

Lurker
Probably a dumb question, but here goes;

Want to temporarily use an old phone - Desire and music festival is not a good mix - and can't seem to be able to find how to copy all my contacts to my SIM. Can export then to and from SD and from SIM but not to SIM. Currently no contacts shown as being on SIM so assume it does not auto save to it :confused:

Running unmolested Android 2.1.

When you import them from SD card, there is an option to choose google or phone as "type". Is there an option for sim too?

As far as im aware theres no batch option only a 1 by 1 option. open up a contact then MENU--MORE and u should have save to sim option(other option should be SET TO SPEED DIAL)

Thanks for reply...Yes, I had already discovered that (should have said in original post) so was bit confused to be unable to find option to copy all......

As it goes, I will only need a few contacts over the weekend so the 1 by 1 option is OK but my natural curiosity still needs fulfilling.....:p

Could try some of the apps on the market e.g. contact2sim, although I couldn't get it to work.

Alternatively get a sim card reader/backup tool I guess.

Cheers for the replies - will try this app. Still a bit surprised that there is no "built-in" option....

Does that mean the answer to my question is "no"?

I can't check as I am on a different version of Android to you.
