Is there a way to copy text from a text message? It seems that none of the text is editable once received or sent.

You can forward a single message to your email and copy it there... or you can use Txtract and backup all msgs threads to the sdcard and then copy a thread in its entirity ...

If you want to copy it into the clipboard to paste elsewhere, there's no real easy way to do it. Unless you forward it, but instead of sending, highlight and copy it.
