Copying Texts to PC

Hi,
Does anyone know an easy, and I do mean easy, way to copy text on your Droid to your PC?

1) Connect to your pc via usb and transfer the text file?
2) Send text to yourself in gmail and open it in your 'puter?

There are third party apps available in the Android Market that will let you archive your SMS messages to a text file. You could then copy the text file to your SD card or to your computer...
