Help Copying video from PC to galaxy nexus

asres

Newbie
Hi, I have videos with mkv and avi formats in my personal computer. I'd like to copy some to my samsung nexus phone so I can watch them anywhere. Has somebody tried this?
Can you please provide the step by step procedures to move the files to the phone and how (what app to use) to open the file for viewing.

Thank you!

Wirelessly, airdroid (in market)
With the supplied USB wire, just connect to your computer and it will show up like any other USB drive. copy the movie into the videos folder.

The nexus does not natively play avi, I converted mine to mp4.
Also, you do not have to put them in any particular directory (folder).

I put them in that folder because that is where most programs that I have used default to look for them. You can go into settings and change/add the folder in most programs.

I have my movies in a movies directory, my south park episodes in the south park directory, I have some videos in a pets directory, etc.
I have no trouble finding any of them.

Hi, I converted my avi file to mp4, but when I played it on my phone, only sounds come out. Do you know why?

Thanks!
