Help Corporate email

Hello All GN 10.1 users I wonder if anyone can help with a little corporate email issue I appear to be having with my note or experienced this issue.

I have a wifi note upgraded to JB 4.1.2 and all been fine for 4 months. Gmail and corporate email setup in the stock email app and working ok. Occassionally emails were stuck in the out box and would not go, but put this down to lack of wifi signal, deleted the email and rewrote and the mail sent when had better signal.

Recently this appeared to be happening more, but only when the email contained an attachment other then jpg's. I need the ability to send pdf's etc on regular basis. Deleting and recreating did not have any affect. Simple text emails would send ok no problem.

So having an old htc desire phone also I tried to emulate the same on this and the same issue email with pdf attachment would not send.

I came to a conclusion that it was a server (windows) issue, however I tried another email app Kaiten mail free version and it did eventually send the email. Thinking all was ok tried the stock email app, still did not work, so I deleted the exchange account and recreated this. When re-creating the account a message was displayed saying the certificate was not valid, but selected continue and the account was created.

I am able to connect to my corporate account as contacts and calender is synced, but I am only able to sync some of the folders. When inbox and sent selected the rotating circle is displayed and nothing is sync'd so can not receive any emails.

Kaiten mail works fine for both email accounts, but I would prefer to use the stock app. I did try other free version of emails apps, touchdown, droidmail and the same problem occurred ie account set up but would not sync sent and inbox.

Now we have been having server issues but our IT supplier says it is not the server issue. Does anyone have any thoughts or experienced this issue?

If the email server you are trying to connect to is "self-signed" and not using trusted verification, then you will have to install the certificate. Contact the IT dept and have them give you the certificate, then copy it to your device. Put it in the root of /sdcard so you can find it easily. Then go to menu>settings>security>install and select the certificate.

After this i's reboot the device just to be sure it was installed correctly. Then try to send something. :)

Thanks Lunatic59, it have asked our IT specialist the question. What's frustrating me is that I have been using two android mobile devices without any issues up to now and never needed a certificate. I assume something could have changed with the server as they have been having major issues installing some new ca virus software.

Interestingly a couple of ipad users have been having similar issues sending emails with attachments, but IT specialist put this down to the latest ios update.

I am still a new user to android, so forgive my innocence, but do different apps use or not use certificates? As this would explain why some email apps work and not others.

Some less secure apps may ignore them so you wouldn't see a warning, it would just try to send/rcv.
