Is there correct email etiquette

Or code of appropriate emailing or good practices

Like I think its always a good practice to confirm/acknowledge reciept on an email .. if y can not reply immediately at least with an "ok" or what's a better reply?


Also maybe if I/you/sender writes in end of email "nrn" = no reply needed

Means it is ok no need to reply ok

I just write an email exactly how i would speak (minus the slang and swear words) :)
Im not a fan of formality or etiquette tbh
 
And if you mail to more recipients, put your own address in To and all the real addresses in the BCC, so all addresses won't be visible for all recipients.
 
Agreed. In fact at one point I had a spam filter based to remove any mail not addressed to me but I had to remove it because it lost a few legitimate emails that used this addressing scheme. Hiding the real recipient(s) is a bad idea; it smells of spam - and usually is.

To the OP: I agree with this. Don't write email as though it's an SMS or Twitter message, write it as you might speak or write a letter.

In particular it's not a good idea to use a TLA (*) like "nrn" unless you absolutely know the recipient will understand (I didn't). If in doubt just type the words but if you must use a TLA it's probably best to write it in capital letters to make it clear that is not just a typo.

Oh... and please try to use punctuation, it really does help legibility :-)

Nothing annoys me more than my uncle mailing his entire contract list to let us know about his holiday plans, with my address out in the open for everyone to see. That is not done.

Often depends on the person. Most people are a little more formal when emailing their boss/coworkers, while emailing friends are more casual. Nothing wrong with confirming receipt of an email.

Even worse: when people forward those joke emails that include hundreds of peoples email addresses... including yours.
 
^^^^ YES! I had to actually up and ABANDON my email and start a new one because it became so full of joke emails (and pictures of sad animals that need adoption) because one of my relatives got ahold of it and passed it to others family friends. Said relatives don't have my new address.

I write differently depending whom I addressing. Business, I write fairly formal. Family and friends---- they get what they pay for with me. Hahaha
