Root Correct Series Of "Wiping"?

Funny thread title, hehe.

Anyways, my question is when you're in CWR, what is the correct series to wipe the phone?

When changing ROM's I usually wipe data/restore defaults(or however it's labeled)
Then clear Cache
Then wipe the Delvik and then install ROM

Does it matter what the series you go in when you're wiping the data from the phone? I'm trying to track down this "Safe Mode" so I'm grasping at straws as to why it's really only happening to mine and my wifes phone and it doesn't matter what version of SC I'm running, has to be something that I'm doing that's causing it.

Thanks

Sounds good to me, that's what I do...data, then cache. Has your phone been acting funny or something?

They both go into "Safe Mode" at random times. When that happens, you have no service and it loads the stock "launcher" instead of Launcher Pro(Pay For Version) and has the words "Safe Mode" at the bottom. It'll stay like this for a few min then reboot on its own back into "Safe Mode" and will only boot back into the correct mode(?lol) after a Battery Pull.

It's done it on all the versions of ROM's I've used from DJ09/EB01/EB16 & Voodoo/NonVoodoo kernels. Hers and my phones do it randomly but I'm having trouble finding people on these forums and XDA who have had it happen to them. So I'm digging into what I can do to fix it.

I PM'd "adrynalyne" about it and here is what he said: "The reason why the phone would randomly go into Safe Mode would be false touches being registered on the capacitive keys. I am not trying to sound like a jerk, but aside from cleaning the screens and possibly interference from screen protectors...."

Neither of our phones have screen protectors on them, I'll see if I can screen shot it next time it happens.

Not to put down what adry told you because hes the super genius and I'm an idiot compared to him. But I think that it also has something to do with the power button. My phone has been in safe mode a few times and I never could figure it out. Well last time it happened my phone had been in my side holster. It started to ring so I was pulling it out as I did I kept accidentally turning the screen off. So I finally just held the power button for a few secs and phone turned off. When it came back on I was in safe mode. I did battery pull and back to normal again. so after my babble babble I really think power key has something to do with it also. Have you been pressing power key when its happened that you can think of?

The first time my phone went into safe mode I spent like two days trying to find out about it with no luck. I think no one truly understands it even samsung lol

I too had this problem. It is not due, at least specifically, to issues with the specific buttons (or at least in my case). It definitely had something to do with ROM/Kernel or left over residual data clashing. My phone was always fine up through DJ05. After flashing early versions of Froyo SuperClean (can't remember if it was with DL30 or EB01 or both), then my phone would randomly freeze, and then reboot itself into safe mode for a few seconds and then reboot again into safe mode. This continued until a battery pull. I wiped data, cleared cache, cleared Dalvik cache. Repeated three times. Then installed SC2.8 and the phone has been fine. Since the phone did not do this before early Froyo SC versions and is not doing it with SC2.8, it is not a problem with any of the buttons, soft or hard, being defective.

If the wipes don't fix your problem, I'd wipe/factory reset and clear cache and then use odin to flash EB01 stock onto your phone according to this post by Adryn [HowTo] Fix your phone after i screwed it up with 2.7 :( - xda-developers and then proceed to flash SC2.8.
