Help Could a 3rd Party USB Cable Cause Port Separation?

So I'm on my 2nd EVO, a refurb, since my original EVO had its USB port snap off its motherboard. With this new EVO I'm trying to be more careful, but I've noticed something.

A couple of months ago I purchased these:

Amazon.com: USB Data Charge Sync Cable for HTC Evo 4G: Cell Phones & Accessories

So I could charge the EVO at work and in the car. I've noticed, however, that they go into the port and come out more securely than the one that came with the EVO, yet with more force needed to insert and remove the cord.

Is it possible that using these cords is what caused my USB port to separate from the motherboard, or am I just being paranoid?

The port solder isn't well constructed so it can fail regardless of cable maker.
