Root could my provider tell that i've rooted?

sorry for the n00b question, but i'm still very new to this rooting stuff. i may take the plunge very soon. :)

my question is: is there any way my provider could tell (perhaps OTA or otherwise) that i've rooted my phone, & therefore void my warranty? apparently, it is not illegal to root, but i'd like to prevent them from knowing i've done so, if i so choose.

thanks in advance!

Probably... but they're not going to do it via OTA. They MIGHT check if you're getting a replacement phone sent and have to send your original rooted phone back, but there is a really easy way to unroot... which I literally just got done doing.

cool. i was worried about them knowing OTA. perhaps if an OTA update failed that it would return a reason why, such as that the phone has been rooted, thus voiding my warranty.
